ADULT WOMEN'S PROGRAM

LMSC just started a new program for adult women in early 2023. All players in the program must be at least 18 years of age. During the early winter months, LMSC will be offering pickup games on Sunday mornings to interested ladies. The program is hoping to enter a team in the third division of the Tri-County Women's Soccer League (TCWSL) in the spring of 2023 and also play in the league's fall season. If there is enough interest, the team will also play indoors in the winter months.

New members are always welcome. If you would like to join the women's program, or if you would like more information, please e-mail LMSC President Biff Sturla.

LMSC is also hoping to enter a team in the TCWSL's first division in the fall of 2023. This team will be primarily comprised of younger women who played for the legendary LMSC Storm (U-16, U-17, U-18 and U-19 state champions) who will be hopefully graduating college in May, 2023.

UPCOMING PRACTICES - The first practice was held on Sunday, February 12. The program will be running future practices in the late winter / early spring on Sunday mornings, 9:00-10:30 at Holy Child School at Rosemont's turf field. The school is located at 1344 Montgomery Avenue in Rosemont.

What To Bring: Size 5 ball (mandatory for training activities), shin guards (mandatory in all games and practices), cleats in good shape (greatly preferred over sneakers), soccer socks (worn OVER the shin guards), water bottle, inhaler if needed, a desire to get some good exercise, a desire to meet some new friends and a desire to have a lot of fun. It is recommended you dress in layers on cold days so you can take layers off one at a time, as needed.

We will also work on getting a scrimmage or two organized with teams from the TCWSL to gauge the level of play for our LMSC group. This would likely be in early June, as the TCWSL season comes to a close.

If there is sustained interest, the program will take a short break, then start up again in the summer months. In time, I will need to know the interest level and summer availability of the players.

HISTORY OF WOMEN'S SOCCER AT LMSC - LMSC formed a team in 1995 which ran for many years. My ex-wife (now good friend) Karin created the program. She later created the TCWSL and was the original League President. After Karin moved to Florida, the LMSC team eventually died out due to a field shortage since we have over 50 youth travel teams and over 1200 intramural players playing each season. We now have more fields at our disposal and anticipate the Women's Program being a solid program for us to grow. The original LMSC women's program was known as the LMSC Moonlight Ladies. I anticipate this to be the name of our reincarnated team.

ADDITIONAL PLAYERS - LMSC welcomes new players. For more information about the program, please e-mail LMSC President Biff Sturla.

Cost For The Spring Season: There is no cost for the February 12 date. Players are welcome to try it out and see whether they like it or not. Beyond that, the commitment will be through May 21. All participating players will be expected to pay a non-refundable fee of $175. You may pay by check, payable to LMSC and sent to LMSC, Box 360, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010 or you may Venmo the payment to @MegMooreLMSC       Meghan is our bookkeeper / treasurer. Be sure to write "LMSC Moonlight Ladies" in the comments section. The majority of this fee will go toward field rentals, but will also include a Team Snap account for easy team communication, game shirts, practice pinnies, fees for guest coaches, etc. If we run short of funding for any reason, i.e., we need to expand to two sessions per Sunday morning, we will ask for additional payment, but I anticipate this cost will be good for the season.
