RACHEL SAVETT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

In 2000, one of our younger soccer players, Rachel Savett, passed away due to anaphylactic shock, caused by very bad food allergies. She had just been selected for one of our LMSC travel teams. Rachel’s father, Robert Savett, coached in LMSC for over ten years. To honor the memory of Rachel, LMSC created a scholarship fund in her name.

The scholarship is awarded each year to a former LMSC player, referee or field crew person who will be attending college during the upcoming fall semester. The aware is presented by the LMSC Directors. There is no application process for this award.

The 2010 Award Winner is Katherine Kelly, a long time LMSC travel team player who also served as a referee and coach in the intramural program for our youngest divisions. Katherine will be a senior at University of Rochester this fall, majoring in nursing.

The 2009 Award Winner was Dan Greenberg. Dan played in the club for many years. He also served for many seasons at a referee assignor in the intramural program.
