OVER 20 LMSC STORM (U-19A GIRLS) PLAYERS
WILL BE PLAYING IN COLLEGE THIS FALL

February 21, 2019 - The LMSC Storm (our U-19 girls team) have been together as a team since they were Under 9. Five Storm players graduated from high school back in May and are currently playing in college. Almost all of the remaining players will be graduating from their respective high schools this spring and will be heading off to college to continue their soccer careers.

LMSC would like to acknowledge the fantastic work and dedication that head coach Pete Gangl has put into this team for over 10 years. Pete originally coached this group in the Developmental Academy, starting in the fall of 2008. In the spring of 2009, Gangl selected 12 players for the Under 9 Storm team. Of those 12 players, 8 continued playing for the Storm up through their senior year in high school: Simi Bleznak, Lauren Bracken, Phebe Guenther, Teresa Hegarty, Gabby Mazzoni, Celia Page, Morgan Rees and Reilly Short. One of the other original players unfortunately had to stop playing a few years ago because of a serious knee injury.

The Storm have won the EPYSA State Championship the past three years (2016, 2017, 2018) and were state finalists in 2014 and 2015.

This past fall, five former Storm players played at the college level:

  • Emily Lorry, Connecticut College
  • Eliza Green, University of Vermont
  • Morgan Rees, Drexel University
  • Sadie Gold, Ithaca College
  • Annie Doig, Bates College

  • Samantha Crawford, Virginia Wesleyan
  • Ashley Groeber, Saint Joseph University

Pete: Seriously, thanks!!! You are awesome. -- Biff
