SABERTOOTH RATS (U-15 BOYS) WIN REGIONALS
ADVANCE TO NATIONALS


July 5, 2016 - The LMSC Sabertooth Rats won the U-15 boys state championship and advanced to the Regional Championships, held in Barboursvile, West Virginia. Regionals is a five day tournament comprised of all the state champions in Region I (Maine through West Virginia).

The Rats opened up Regionals with a 6-0 win over Kirkwood, the Delaware state champions. The next day, the Rats defeated Doug Miller Soccer Academy from Western New York. In their third bracket game, the Rats defeated Smithtown Chelsea, the New York state champions.

The three wins in bracket play put the team into the semifinals where they defeated STA Morris (New Jersey state champions) 3-1. This put the Rats into the Regional finals which they won 2-0 over HMMS Titan Eagles.

The winners of Regionals advance to Nationals which will be held in late July in Dallas. The Sabertooth Rats will represent Region One. Their opponents, from the other three regions of the country will be: CFA Raiders from Illionis (Region II champions), Davie United Sharks from Florida (Region III champions) and SC Sporting Green fro Northern California (Region IV champions).
