SABERTOOTH RATS (U-12A BOYS) WIN INDOOR STATE CUPS
FOR FOURTH STRAIGHT YEAR

January 13, 2013 - Congratulations to the LMSC Sabertooth Rats who were crowned Indoor State Cup Champions for the fourth consecutive year. The Sabertooth Rats are the first team in LMSC history to win the title four years in a row. They have also won the Delco League division one championship in each of the past four fall seasons.

The Rats easily won their bracket play, defeating Montgomery United 10-2, Ukrainian Nationals 5-1 and Campbelltown 13-2. This put them into the semifinals where they would face CAPA from Harrisburg. The Sabertooth Rats high powered offense remained at top speed, easily defeating their opponents 6-0 to put them into the finals.

The finals would see a rematch against the Ukrainian Nationals who advanced to the semfinals via the wildcard spot. The Ukrainians defeated Lehigh Valley United 4-2 to earn the rematch. The championship game was an exciting back and forth game as the Rats jumped off to a quick 2-0 lead before the Ukrainians put in three goals to take the lead. Harrison Malone tied the game with five minutes remaining. Two minutes later, Tim O'Hare buried the tournament winning goal for the Sabertooth Rats. Overall, the Rats outscored their opponents 38-8 in their five games.
