SHAKE N BAKE (U-14B BOYS) ARE CO-CHAMPIONS
OF DELCO LEAGUE'S SECOND DIVISION

November 11, 2012 - Congratulations to the LMSC Shake N Bake for being the Under 14 Division Two Delco League co-championship.

The Shake N Bake team moved up to Delco Division 2 this year which was a 6 team division – so regular season consisted of playing each team twice - home & away – and a playoff format that matched the regular season 1st place team vs. 2nd place team for single Championship game.

Shake N Bake team finished regular season in 2nd place with a 6-3-2(W-D-L) record; finishing the regular season with the least number of losses in division – only letting up a total of 6 goals all year thanks strong defense and great goal keeping efforts. Their Championship game opponent was the 1st place FC Revolution team with a 7-1-3(W-D-L) regular season record.

Shake N Bake went down early and went into half time trailing 1-0. In the 2nd half, Shake N Bake came back with a new fire in their eyes and scored their first goal pretty early when a rebound came off the goalie and a crashing Ryan Tillman buried it in the back of the net. Both teams were fighting to find the winning goal but FC revolution came up with the next goal to move ahead 2-1. Shake N Bake was not giving up and had several chances to tie that just miss until finally a header off a corner kick was initially saved – and again a crashing Ryan Tillman buried the deflection into the back of the net. With only a few minutes left both teams tried everything to win game in regulation - but score remained tied 2-2 at the end of regulation.

The game went to overtime, where they would play two 10 minute periods (no Golden Goal). The Shake N Bake played their hearts out for the last 20 minutes trying to get the win but could not come up with the winning goal. The score remained 2-2 after the OT periods and based on new Delco rules – both teams were awarded championship trophies.

This year was a great team accomplishment after winning Division 3 Championship last year and moving up a division and seeing a significant increase in the quality of the teams they played this year over last year – the whole team made an outstanding effort with a lot of hustle and determination to become Div 2 co-Champs in 2012.
