June 20, 2012 - The U10 Lower Merion Herricanes played two games on Saturday to a 0-0 tie with weather conditions less than favorable on the field from the rain the night before.  On Sunday, the fields dried out and the Herricances were able to move the ball with skill and score some goals.  The Hurricanes won their first game 1-0 against the Ukranian Nationals Blasters on a great free kick from half field by Ella Curry to put them into the finals. 

In the finals they played a familiar opponent in Hulmeville and again on a great individual effort by Ella Curry won by a 1-0 score.  Brynne Menen, Kelly Hutton and Alysa Akins had several scoring oppurtunities throughout the weekend while Caroline Blackman and Abbie Rorke held down the defense with Amelia Leyden constructing four shutout games in the goal with great save after save.
