PANTHERS (U-18 BOYS) HELP SPONSOR
RADNOR A BETTER CHANCE CAUSE

May 20, 2012 - On Sunday, May 20th the LMSC Panthers U17 Boys helped to sponsor the Radnor A Better Chance (ABC) 5K run and 1 mile fun walk. The Panther players also participated as a team in the 5K run and clocked a great time, just under the top prize winners. It was a beautiful day and the players had the opportunity to interact with the students and staff involved in the Radnor ABC Program. Radnor ABC is part of the National ABC Organization headquartered in New York. The ABC mission is to increase substantially the number of well-educated young people of color who are capable of assuming positions of responsibility and leadership in American society.

There are three ABC Community School Programs in the Philadelphia area.  Lower Merion, Strath Haven and Radnor all have boarding houses in the community and their ABC students attend the public schools in that community. The ABC Program serves the school district as well by increasing the cultural diversity within the public school community.

The LMSC Panthers  are planning to help the ABC Programs in other ways by planning and preparing a dinner in September when the students return from summer break.
