SABERTOOTH RATS (U-11A BOYS) WIN THIRD STRAIGHT DELCO LEAGUE DIVISION ONE CHAMPIONSHIP

November 19, 2011 - Congratulations to the LMSC Sabertooth Rats for winning the Under 11 Division One Delco League championship. This is the third straight year that the Rats have won the division one championship. In their three years in the Delco League, the team has not lost a game. Their record in that span is 29 wins 0 losses and 3 ties.

The Rats defeated Lehigh Valley 3-1 in this year's Under 11 championship game. Luca "Paco" Giordano opened up the scoring, heading home a great cross from Colin Burn. Lehigh Valley tied the score when they converted on a corner kick. In the second half, Harrison Malone buried what would prove to be the winning goal early in the second half. Soon after, Malone assisted on Tim O'Hare's insurance goal. O'Hare hit a beautiful shot from 18 yards out that hit the inside of the far post and banked into the goal.

Goalkeeper Sebastian Connelly made many great saves throughout the game. He was helped by defenders Justin Nachman and Ethan Blouin.

The Sabertooth Rats defeated the Ukrainian Nationals 6-2 in the semifinals to advance to the championship game.
