May 15, 2010 - Congratulations to the LMSC Lightning on taking second place in the EPYSA State Cups. Under the direction of head coach Paul Ferreira, the Lightning defeated PA Classics (Lancaster) 3-2 in the opening round of state cups, then beat West Chester United 3-2 in the quarterfinals. The big game came against state powerhouse FC Delco in the semifinals. The Lightning came out on top of the hard fought game, earning a 1-0 victory.

The championship game saw the Lightning play Lehigh Valley who had won the state cups the previous two years. The Lightning was unable to stop that streak as Lehigh Valley earned their third straight state cup and advance to Regionals in West Virginia.

Still, it was a great ride for the Lightning, thanks to the great efforts of coach Paul Ferreira and his staff.
