QUICK BOYS (U-9 BOYS) WIN GETTYSBURG TOURNAMENT



August 30, 2009 - The Quick Boys, led by coach Matt Cox, were U9 champions at the Gettysburg Battlefield Blast tournament finishing with a record of 3-0-1 and posting 2 consecutive shutouts. On Day 1 the Quick Boys were led in scoring by German Contreras and Ben Axel, who both had 2 goals. Three others added one goal.

On Day 2, the team had many scorers including Issi Brainsky, who hit a big penalty shot to send the team to the championship, German Contreras and Timmy O’Hare. Robbie Dickman’s aggressive play helped set up many goals and keep the Quick Boys in the other team’s side of the field. Max Cohen and Dominic Leonard played tenacious defense during both days helping preserve 2 shutouts. In goal Trevor Looby, Shane Boyer and Jadon Hoffman only yielded 4 goals the entire tournament.

The Quick Boys defeated FCB Maryland in the tournament final 6-2.
