November 24, 2008 - The LMSC Vélez, our U-17 boys, traveled to North Carolina to play in the very prestigious CASL Tournament. The locals played in the top flight of the tournament, playing teams that were also highly ranked nationally. The Vélez tied the Chicago Fire 1-1 in their opening game, then defeated the Dallas Texans North 1-0. In their third game, the team beat Triangle Gold (North Carolina) 2-1. Triangle is coached by Jay Vidovitch, the head coach for the University of North Carolina Men's Varsity.
