November 20, 2005 - The Under 9A Lightning continued the great tradition of past LMSC U-9A teams by winning the Delco League’s top division championship this fall.The Lightning went 7-1-1 in the regular season, recording four shutouts and outscoring their opponents 41-7. In the playoffs, the Lightning was able to avenge the only two blemishes on theirstellar recorddefeating TEYSA 3-0 in the semifinals and West Chester United 4-0 in the championship game.

All season, theLightning had a well balanced attack with strikers Marcelo Pernot, Josh Katz and Kevin Bendesky leading the scoring. Midfielders, Ayo Maja, Kyle Gaeffke and Robbie Klein not only helped tremendously with the scoring but also did a great job of controlling play and distributing the ball when on attack.Finally, the defense anchored by the fullbacks Michael Carr, Jimmy Tricolli and Matthew Branman, along with superb goalkeeping by Will Rosenbaum and Michael Hinckley, was stellar all season as evidenced by their 0.67 goals against average.
