Coaches in the LMSC Developmental Academy have a very strong soccer background as coaches and as players.
We do NOT have parent coaches involved in the program.
ART HERNANDEZ - Director of LMSC Developmental Academy
Art is the LMSC Director of the club's Developmental Academy. He is also head coach for the LMSC Swarm girls team.
Coach Art was raised in Los Angeles, California and has been living in Chester County for over 20 years. He has coached
in this area for the past 12 years and has developed under terrific coaches and mentors. He has coached and trained
teams that have won State Cups, along with National and Regional competitions and tournaments.
Coach Art is very vested in his coaching education and, in addition to being a current A-License candidate, he has all
his grassroots licenses through US Soccer. Additionally, he holds his Advanced National, Advanced National Goalkeeper and
FUTSAL diplomas from United Soccer Coaches. He has attended courses through ANEFS and TOVO, based out of Spain.
In addition to coaching, he currently volunteers his time to collaborate and network with various soccer
coaching groups (locally and nationally) to produce and host different online content.
JOHN LENART - Head coach for our boys Under 12 A team
John is currently the head coach for the LMSC Rovers Navy (A) 2012 boys which competes in ACELA Tier 1 and
EDP Tier 1, earned first place in Fall 2022 EDP League play, 2023 EPYSA Indoor State Cup Champions and has been
finalists or champions at the following: Jefferson Cup, three times winning the SAC Columbus Day Regional tourney,
twice winning the Steele Futsal League (playing in the 2011 age group) and the Fall 2022 EDP Fall Classic tourney.
John also serves as a LMSC Goalkeeper Coach, Speed and Agility Trainer, has been a Philadelphia Union Youth Academy
staff coach since 2020, recently was the assistant/goalkeeper coach with the Chestnut Hill College Women's team
(Division 2) and Haverford College Men's Team (Division 3). John played collegiately at Widener University and
grew up playing competitive club and high school soccer in Toms River, NJ. He has extensive licensure including:
UEFA/FAW C, US Soccer National Youth, National C and D, and National Goalkeeping licenses as well
as United Soccer Coaches Advanced Regional Diploma, Futsal and Goalkeepers Diplomas (Levels 1, 2, and 3) and FA
Talent Identification and Futsal certificates. John has extensive coaching experience at the club and college
level. John coached at Nether United/1776 from 2008 to 2019 with their 99/00, 2004, and 2009 boys A teams. He has
also worked at FC Delco as their ECNL goalkeeper coach.
GRANT MYERS - Associate Director of LMSC Developmental Academy 2022-2023
Having previously coached in LMSC for 15 years, Grant returns to the club where his coaching journey originally started.
Grant brings with him over 20 years of coaching premier level club and high school soccer, college soccer, as well as
coaching in the former US Soccer Developmental Academy. Over the years, his teams have participated in some of the most
prestigious tournaments, including the Dallas Cup, throughout the country, won numerous State Cup titles, played in the
Regional Championships, and has helped produce many student-athletes who have moved on to some of the top programs
and institutions around the country. Two notable and local players that Grant had
the opportunity to coach in their youth days … Matthew Real (Philadelphia Union) and Zack Steffen (Manchester City).
