2016 COACH OF THE YEAR AWARDS

Each year, LMSC honors two travel team coaches and one intramural coach for outstanding contributions to the club as well as overall success in adhering to the club philosophy of "providing each and every child with a fun filled experience in a soccer environment."

Our Girls Travel Team Coach Of The Year Award winners are Megan Ostrelich and Kristyn Shaner, co-coaches for the LMSC Nemesis and LMSC Crush U-10 teams. Megan and Kristyn have been willing to coach whatever level team the club needs them to and have done a fantastic job with each of them. Their current teams have developed players that have moved up to the top level teams mid-season and have joined those teams seamlessly. Even with losing good players to the top level teams their teams went a combined 19-0-1 in their league games this fall. Both have been great role models for the girls and have created a positive environment for the girls to develop in. Congratulations to Megan and Kristyn on being named the LMSC Girls Travel Team Coaches Of The Year.

Our Boys Travel Team Coach Of The Year Award winner is Jeremiah White, head coach for the LMSC Sabertooth Rats (U-17A boys). As a 12 year professional player and member of the USA Men's National Team, Jeremiah brought in a wealth of experience and soccer knowledge to LMSC. Under Jeremiah's leadership, the Sabertooth Rats won the EPYSA State Championship back in May. This earned them a trip to Barboursville, West Virginia to compete in the Region One Cups. Regionals consists of all the state champions from Maine through West Virginia. The Sabertooth Rats won all five of their games at Regionals and became the first LMSC in eight years to be crowned Region One champions. Jeremiah is also heavily involved in LMSC, running high level training programs for older, more advanced travel team players. Congratulations to Jeremiah on being named the 2016 LMSC Boys Travel Team Coach Of The Year.

Our Intramural Coach Of The Year Award goes to Rob Allen. Rob has coached in our Intramural Program for seven years. This season Rob was the head coach of the Bengals in the Majors Division. The Bengals had a challenging season, losing all their games and scoring very few goals. Although overmatched, the Bengals played hard all game every game and never gave up. Rob kept the boys motivated, working hard to improve, loving the game of soccer, and most importantly having fun. His peers respect and like Rob. "Rob is a supportive nurturing coach. He clearly has the best interest of his players in mind. Rob is a pleasure to coach against." Congratulations to Rob on being named the 2016 LMSC Intramural Coach Of The Year.
